By Zochi What is MU-I MU-i is an ancient Zen word that means fearless. As spiritual warriors and leaders of movements for transformative and progressive change we understand there are always challenges, doubts, anxieties and hidden fears (False Evidence Appearing Real) that will attempt to prohibit us from doing what at times seems to be the impossible. Yet, in the face of uncertainty and the non-knowing we must have the courage to step into the unexplored and unknown to advance beyond the unwritten and unfolding moment that is before us. Thus, the word and practice of MU-i is not about being without fear but, instead facing it anyway. This allows us opportunity to step into our movements, lives and work fully with dignity so, we may discover our authentic selves. This is the warriors way. Therefore, the MU-i is an embodied practice, a vehicle, a metaphor and a reminder of the inner and outer work we must do.
