by Zochi The Instructor is always seeking to enrich our understanding of what it is we are doing and what he is teaching. So that teachers and students alike do not become restricted by our cliches, catch phases and nomenclatures of language. Or as my grandmother would say “words are real and alive things, that which we speak into the world shall become our very reality”. Ashe! Therefore, one of the many teachings that call to me and made me gleam from our meeting this week was “The Universe is not Separate from Ourselves”. As a teacher and a life long student this was an important reminder. So, I’d like to share my reflections on this teaching and hopefully hear each one of your understandings of this teaching. In this way we can share our collected knowledge and understanding so, we may have a greater understanding beyond our egos. The Universe in not Separate from Ourselves. Most of us speak of a universal power, divinity, or god as something outside of ourselves. Something we must strive to tap into, access or gain approval from. Yet, the universe is not a separate thing from ourselves but, an extension of ourselves. We are the micro verse and the macro verse tightly woven together into one another. A single continuous exchange of interconnection. We are one. It and we are the grand ultimate universe. So, what does this mean, as a teacher it informs me during my states of unknowing. Allowing me to listen deeply to the cosmic energy and ancestors, showing me the way when I might feel I am lost. I call upon what is needed for myself and my students fearlessly. In life, it is this same force that allows me to flow intuitively, that opens the inner chamber and expresses itself. In the chaos there is harmony and as a movement master it frees us from thoughts and emotions that may hinder us from being in the moment. Where a thought is too slow. Depending on the perspective or capacity of the observer we may only see, speak, or respond to a narrow slither of our greatness. Shackling ourselves to self imposed limitations. Slowing our intuitive nature to act in the moment. However the sage who masters themselves sees beyond the I of ones ego and understands that we are not only the drop of water in a cosmic sea but the sea itself. In this unfolding moment of consciousness we are a being of light shining in our true nature, outside of thought and pure at heart. When our vision is myopic and small we see ourselves as separate from the universal force it becomes something outside of our reality that we are reaching toward. Thus it is imperative to speak, think, and act as the source itself is breaking free of the default expectation of the societal norms. In doing so it is we who liberate ourselves and are able to access and materialize the transformation we seek. We are what we think, change your mind and free yourself.
